
Bockrath, Klinge Claim Big Ten Swimmer of the Week Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State swimmers Rachel Bockrath and Matt Klinge have each been named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
At the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown last weekend, Bockrath set a program record time of 1:42.92 en route to a win in the 200 free. Het time is an NCAA standard and broke the previous record of 1:42.94 set by Amy Fulmer in 2023. She placed third in the 100 free with an NCAA standard time of 47.27.
Bockrath was also on the third place 400 medley relay team that turned in an NCAA provisional time of 3:31.34, as well as the third place 200 free relay team (1:28.92) and the third place 400 free relay team (3:15.50).
Klinge was the winner of both the 50 fly and the 100 fly at the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown. He turned in a time of 20.38 in the 50 fly and swam an NCAA standard time of 45.12 in the 100 fly. Klinge was on the fourth-place 200 free relay team (1:17.80), the fourth place 200 medley relay team (1:24.95) and the fourth place 400 relay team (2:53.77).
The Buckeyes are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 31 when they host the Pitt Panthers at 11 a.m.
