Buckeyes improve to 14-0, face Wisconsin in Columbus Friday

The Buckeyes jumped to a 14-0 lead before Nebraska posted five-consecutive wins to take a 16-14 lead prior to the last match of the afternoon between No. 3 Nick Feldman and No. 4 AJ Ferrari. The battle went to sudden victory where Feldman scored a late takedown to get the 4-1 victory and the 17-16 team victory.

Ohio State takes on Wisconsin at 6 p.m. Friday at the Covelli Center in Columbus. The Buckeyes will welcome and recognize their alumni during the match. The Big Ten Network will broadcast the match nationally.

125 - (2) Nic Bouzakis (OSU) def. Kael Lauridsen (NEB), MD, 16-4
Bouzakis struck first with a quick takedown and led 3-1 after a Lauridsen escape. Bouzakis added another takedown and four-point nearfall for a 10-1 lead. Lauridsen trailed 13-2 after the first three minutes. Lauridsen escaped after Bouzakis built 1:40 in riding time to go the third with the Buckeyes leading 13-3. Bouzakis earned a reversal and got the win by decision 16-4.
133 - (2) Ben Davino (OSU) def. (8) Jacob Van Dee (NEB), D, 7-2
Davino took a 3-1 lead with a takedown. Starting down to open the second, Davino got the escape point for a 4-1 advantage going to the third. Van Dee cut it to 4-2 with an escape but Davino added a takedown for a win by decision, 7-2.

141 - (1) Jesse Mendez (OSU) def. (3) Brock Hardy (NEB), MD, 14-3
In a rematch of the 2025 National Title Match, Mendez struck first with a takedown. Mendez added a takedown and four-point nearfall to lead 10-1 after three minutes. Another takedown a little more than midway through the second made it 13-2 headed to the third. Mendez added an escape point to get the win by major decision, 14-3.

149 - (4) Ethan Stiles (OSU) def. (14) Chance Lamer (NEB), SV, 6-3
After a near takedown by Lamer, Stiles was credited with takedown that was reviewed by the referees. The call was reversed, keeping the match scoreless going to the second. Stiles escaped early in the second for a 1-0 lead after five minutes. Lamer took a 2-1 lead with a reversal before Stiles countered with a reversal to go up 3-2. Lamer escaped to even the match at 3-all. That match then went to sudden victory where an early scramble failed to produce a point for either wrestler. Stiles then got the winning takedown for a win by decision, 6-3.

157 – (5) Antrell Taylor (NEB) def. Maddox Shaw (OSU), MD, 11-3
Taylor went to the second period with a 6-1 lead after a pair of takedowns. Taylor built the lead to 10-2 head to the third. Taylor finished off the bout for the win by major decision, 11-3.
165 - (7) LJ Araujo (NEB) def. e'Than Birden (OSU), D, 1-0
There was no score after the opening three minutes. Araujo earned an early escape in the second for a 1-0 lead after two periods. Birden chose neutral to start the third. Neither wrestler put points on the board the rest of the way to give Araujo the 1-0 win by decision.

174 - (6) Christopher Minto (NEB) def. (4) Carson Kharchla (OSU), SV, 4-1
Nothing on the board for either wrestler over the first three minutes. Minto escaped for a 1-0 lead to open the second. Kharchla evened it at 1-all with an escape in the third. The bout then went to sudden victory even at 1-all. A scramble failed to produce points before Minto got the win with a takedown to win by decision, 4-1.
184 - (7) Silas Allred (NEB) def. (5) Dylan Fishback (OSU), D, 2-1 TB-2
The match went to the second period scoreless. Allred scored with an escape in the second. Fishback tied it with an escape in the third to send the match to sudden victory. Fishback left the mat for an injury evaluation before returning. Once the match resumed, neither wrestler was able to score. Allred started from bottom in the first tiebreaker and quickly got the escape for a 2-1 lead. From neutral, Allred held on for the win, 2-1. Â Â
197 - (9) Camden McDanel (NEB) def. (10) Luke Geog (OSU), D, 9-6
Geog got the opening takedown for a 3-1 lead. McDanel countered with a takedown to up 4-3. Geog then added a reversal to go back on top before a McDanel escape to make it 5-all after the first. McDanel took the lead with an escape in the second. Geog tied it at 6-all when McDanel elected to go neutral to open the third. Â
HWT - (3) Nick Feldman (OSU) def. (4) AJ Ferrari (NEB), SV, 4-1
There was no score after the first period. From bottom, Feldman escaped for a 1-0 lead after 30 seconds elapsed in the second. Ferrari tied it at 1-all with an escape early in the third. Feldman got in on a leg but was not able to finish off the takedown before going out of bounds. The match then went to sudden victory where Feldman got the takedown for the 4-1 win to secure the victory for the Buckeyes.
