Buckeyes Host Big Ten/ACC Challenge This Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 13 Ohio State field hockey team hosts the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Buckeye Varsity Field this weekend. The Buckeyes will face No. 3 Virginia and Friday and No. 11 Syracuse on Sunday. No. 16 Rutgers will also be a participant in the tournament.

- The Buckeyes will face No. 3 Virginia on Friday, Sept. 5 at 4:00 p.m. It will be the Our Honor Defend Military Appreciation game.
- Ohio State matches up with No. 11 Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 2:00 p.m. for Youth Day. There will be postgame autographs. The Buckeyes will also be collecting food in partnership with the Family Mentor Foundation.
- Syracuse will face No. 16 Rutgers on Friday at 1:00 p.m. and Rutgers and Virginia will square off on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
- All games will be hosted at Buckeye Varsity Field and can be streamed on B1G+.
- The Buckeyes opened the season last weekend, going 2-0 with wins against Ball State and Kent State.
- Ohio State shut out Ball State, 7-0, on Friday. Makenna Webster led the Buckeyes with a then-career-high four goals.
- Maddie Stevens earned her first career shutout and first career win in goal. She made one save.
- Philippa Schipper had a career-high two assists and Raleigh Kerst scored her first career goal.
- Ohio State opened its home schedule with a 9-3 victory over Kent State.
- Webster scored a team-high six goals, which is a single game program scoring record. She also had one assist.
- MaKayla Carahaly and Carmela Maro each had their first career goal.
- After her 10-goal, 21-point week, Webster was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and the NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week.
- The Buckeyes hit the road next weekend, playing at No. 6 Harvard on Friday, Sept. 12 and at Northeastern on Sunday, Sept. 14.
