COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following a record-setting performance on Saturday at Washington, Ohio State's Caden Curry has been chosen as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Curry, a senior from Greenwood, Ind., recorded a career-high 11 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and three sacks in Ohio State's 24-6 win over the Huskies. Nationally, Curry's five tackles for loss are the most by any player so far this season. His 3.0 sacks ties him with 10 other players for the most sacks in a game. He ranks third in the country with 8.0 tackles for loss through four games and No. 4 in sacks.
Curry was also named the player of the week by two national organizations: PFSN and the Senior Bowl.

The Buckeyes currently rank No. 1 nationally in scoring defense (5.5 points allowed per game), No. 8 in total defense (229.3 yards allowed per game) and have surrendered just two touchdowns in their first four games.
The No. 1-ranked Buckeyes (4-0) host Minnesota (3-1) on Saturday in their Big Ten home opener. Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. with NBC broadcasting to a national audience.
