- This is the Buckeyes' second ranked opponent of the season as they previously hosted then No. 12 Florida on September 7.
- Olivia Hasbrook reached double-figure digs for the eighth time this season, totaling 11 digs tonight.
- Mia Stahler recorded her second match of the season in double figures with 11 digs.
- S1: The set was tied eight times and featured five lead changes with neither team leading by more than three points.
- S2: Jones and Wuebker combined for 11 kills in the set.
- Head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg: "When you're facing good teams, the execution level needs to be pretty high and I think that's where we're getting caught up right now. Are we executing at the right time? The answer is no right now. I think there are a couple sets last night against UCLA where we had the lead and just couldn't close. Is it the belief at the end of the game? Is it the experience at the end of the game? We just don't have either right now and we're trying to figure that out. It's nice to battle and be in the matches with these top teams and now we just need to find a closer."
- Sophomore libero Olivia Hasbrook: "I think the defense is never where we want it to be – we always want it to get better. We're doing some good things, getting some great blocks and digs, but it can always be better."
- Sophomore outside hitter Reese Wuebker: "I think our passing was solid this weekend so it was good to get one-on-one connections. Mia [Tuman] and [Kamiah Gibson] were really good at keeping the tempo. For me, it was easier because I had a lot of holes in the block and a lot of speed so we could throw off their offense a little bit."
- Ohio State takes its trip out west to face Washington on Friday at 10 p.m. ET and RV Oregon on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET. Both matches will be broadcast live on B1G+.Â
