Mackenzie Pruden scores a team best 1178 aggregate
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State rifle team opened its 2025 campaign by hosting Georgia Southern (4724) and Mt Aloysius College (4545) inside of Converse Hall on Saturday.
The team fired an aggregate score of 4679 led by freshman Mackenzie Pruden, who finished with a team-best 1178 aggregate.
In smallbore. the team posted a score of 2315 led by Riley Dunn, who fired a 583. She was followed by Lilly Warren (579), John Hamilton (577), Paige Hollowell (576), and Ella Sprague (574). Pruden finished with a freshman record score of 587 to lead the way for Ohio State's individuals while Emily Valenta (559) and Summer Lytle (558) rounded out smallbore individual scoring.
In air rifle, the Buckeyes totaled a 2364 led by sophomore Ella Sprague who fired a 594. Lilly Warren (592), Mackenzie Pruden (591), Paige Hollowell (587), and John Hamilton (584) rounded out team scoring. While Andrew Duross (588), Summer Lytle (587), and Emily Valenta (575) completed individual scoring.
Coach Tanoue: "Hosting Georgia Southern and Mt. Aloysius was a great way to start our 2025 season. Seeing Mackenzie, Riley, and Emily get their Ohio State careers underway was also fantastic. We had a lot of good performances during the match but there are of course many areas where we can improve and we have a great opportunity in front of us next week to grow from this match and take a step forward when we travel to Lincoln to compete with Nebraska."
The Buckeyes are back in action on Saturday, September 27th at Nebraska.
