Buckeyes Sweep Bobcats on Wuebker’s Career Day

Ohio State earned its first sweep of the season on Friday afternoon in a neutral-site match against Ohio.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (2-3) earned the sweep (25-16, 25-19, 26-24) against Ohio (2-5) on Friday afternoon at the Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Invitational, hosted by Wright State.
Ohio State took the lead midway through the first set and used an extended 9-2 run to propel itself to a 25-16 set win. Ohio led the second set until the teams were tied at 11, at which Ohio State took a lead that wouldn't be relinquished and won the set by a 25-19 margin. The third set was tight at the end, tied at points 17 through 24 before three consecutive Buckeye points capped the sweep with a 26-24 set win.

- S1: Ohio scored the first two points of the set and led early before Ohio State was able to string together four unanswered points to take an 11-8 lead. The Buckeyes would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the set, using an extended 9-2 run to increase the lead to 21-12 and ultimately claim a 25-16 set win.

- S3: Ohio State scored the first two points of the set and built an early 12-6 lead, forcing an Ohio timeout. The Bobcats responded with a 3-0 run and used six unanswered points to tie the set at 17. OU took its first lead of the set at 19-18. The set was tied at points 17 through 24. Ohio State sealed a 26-24 set win with three consecutive kills.
