COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State, the defending Big Ten regular-season and tournament champion, welcomes the University of Dayton, Oakland University and Temple University to the annual Wolstein Classic this week in Columbus. Action begins with the Flyers taking on the Owls at 4 p.m. Thursday followed by the Buckeyes and Grizzlies at 7 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. All matches in the 19th edition of the event will be streamed live by B1G+.Â
Sunday matches start with Dayton vs. Oakland at 4 p.m. before a 7 p.m. contest between Ohio State and Temple.
- Brian Maisonneuve, now in his eighth year in Columbus, earned Big Ten Coach of the Year honors in 2024. The entire Ohio State coaching staff earned National Coaching Staff of the Year honors as well
- Maisonneuve led the Buckeyes to their second College Cup appearance in program history in 2024 with a 16-2-4 overall record
- This is Year 19 of the Wolstein Classic in Columbus. Ohio State won both matches last year over SIUE (4-0) and UNLV (3-2). The event was first played in 2006 and since then, Ohio State is 19-9-8.
- Last Time Out: The Buckeyes fell in their season opener at Virginia Tech Aug. 21, 1-0.Â

- Also back is senior keeper Max Trejo, who led the nation a year ago in goals against average (.533) with an overall record of 10-1-2
- Nathan Demian, Pechota and Gilej were named 2025 Captains following a vote of their teammates
- New to the roster in 2025 are Ohio natives Martin McLaughlin (D, Broadview Heights) and Justis Olorunto (D, Akron). The pair join fellow freshmen Aaron Hurge (M, Bethesda, Maryland), Michael Ndiweni (F, Chester-Le-Street, United Kingdom) and Nyle Waugh (Miami, Florida). Transfers Anthony Faupel (F, St. Louis), Joel Demian (D, Vancouver) and Will Arnesen (F, Copenhagen, Denmark) also are new to the roster this season
- The Big Ten Network will broadcast three Ohio State home matches this season. The network will be in Columbus for matches against UCLA (Sept. 29/6 p.m.), Michigan (Oct. 18/6 p.m.) and Maryland (Oct. 18/noon).Â
