
Ohio State Set to Play in Coretta Scott King Classic on MLK Day

The Buckeyes will participate in the second annual event with a game against TCU featured on FOX.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's basketball team will compete in the second annual Coretta Scott King Classic on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The Buckeyes will face TCU in the first game at noon, followed by a game between Michigan and Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. The event will honor Coretta Scott King and the King family's legacy and be featured on FOX.

"This event is a powerful celebration of Coretta Scott King's enduring legacy as a champion for equality, justice and empowerment. It is a privilege for our team to compete in an event that not only showcases the strength and talent of women's basketball but also pays tribute to Mrs. King's profound impact on our society.
Our program is committed to fostering leadership, resilience and excellence in our student-athletes, values that resonate deeply with the vision of Coretta Scott King. The Coretta Scott King Classic is not just a basketball event, it is a movement that celebrates leadership, equality, education, and empowerment through sport. The day will include community activations, youth engagement programming, and more, reflecting the enduring legacy of Mrs. King.

The Buckeyes will face a TCU program that won a program-record 34 games during the 2024-25 season, won the Big 12 title and reached the Elite Eight in its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance. TCU is projected to be led by Notre Dame transfer and All-American, Olivia Miles.
