COLUMBUS, Ohio – This fall, 10 Buckeye standouts will be enshrined in the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame, presented by Varsity O Society. The Class of 2025 includes Bianca Alvarez (diving), Katarzyna Dabrowa (fencing), Veronica Jatsek (women's track and field), Myles Martin (wrestling), Mary Olsen (women's gymnastics), Billy Price (football), Kim Reeder (softball), Blaz Rola (men's tennis), John "Jack" Varga (rifle) and Alex Wimmers (baseball).
The group will be officially inducted during a dinner Oct. 3 in the Covelli Center and recognized at Ohio Stadium when the Buckeye football team hosts Minnesota Oct. 4.Â

The Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame was created in 1977 and has inducted 501 athletes, coaches and administrators through 2024.

Bianca Alvarez
Diving, 2008-12
Â
Bianca Alvarez is one of the most accomplished divers in Ohio State history. An eight-time All-American, Alvarez was the Big Ten champion on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards her senior season in 2012 and was the NCAA runner-up on the 3-meter in 2008 and 2012. She was named the Big Ten Diver of the Year in 2012, becoming the first Buckeye to receive the honor since 1996, and also was selected First Team All-Big Ten. Alvarez was a five-time Ohio State Scholar Athlete and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and she earned the prestigious Big Ten Medal of Honor in 2012. She was a nominee for the NCAA Postgraduate Award and for the Big Ten Wayne Duke Postgraduate Award.

Alvarez qualified for the United States Olympic Trials in 2008 and 2012 and was a finalist in 2012. She also competed in the World University Games, taking home both silver and bronze medals.

Katarzyna Dabrowa
Fencing, 2011-13
Â
The first women's epee national champion in Ohio State fencing history, Katarzyna Dabrowa was a three-time All-American for the Buckeyes. She captured the 2012 NCAA crown, becoming just the second Ohio State woman to win an NCAA fencing title. Dabrowa was a First Team All-American in both 2011, when she was a bronze medalist, and in 2012 as the gold medalist. She also was a Second Team All-American in 2013. Dabrowa was co-captain of the 2012 Buckeye squad that claimed the NCAA team championship. She was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a 2013 Big Ten Medal of Honor finalist. A two-time Ohio State graduate, Dabrowa earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2013 and a master's degree in sport management in 2015.

Internationally, she claimed gold medals at U20 and U23 European Championships, won silver at U23 European and U20 World Championships and was a bronze medalist at Cadet World Championships. She was a three-time World University Games participant.Â

Dabrowa returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach in 2018, the youngest woman coach in Division I at the time, and was promoted to associate head coach in 2021. She is currently in her second year as the head coach at Air Force Academy. During her tenure with Ohio State, Dabrowa led three Buckeyes to the NCAA championship bout, with two ending as national champion. She was on the coaching staff for a men's and women's combined Midwest Fencing Conference title in 2019, men's and women's MCF titles in 2020 and Central Collegiate Fencing Conference men's and women's trophies in 2021, '22 and '23, along with a CCFC men's crown in 2024. The Buckeyes finished in the Top 6 at the NCAA Championships each trip with Dabrowa on staff. In 2022, she was selected the USFCA men's team collegiate assistant coach of the year award winner and the CCFC men's team assistant coach of the year.Â

Veronica Jatsek
Women's Track & Field, 2006-08
Â
Despite spending only three seasons with the Buckeyes, Veronica Jatsek left her mark on the program and its record books. Upon her graduation in 2008, Jatsek held the Ohio State record in the women's weight throw – a record that stood for 11 years. She currently ranks second in the women's weight throw and fourth in the women's hammer throw among the program's all-time leaders.

Jatsek was a three-time USTFCCCA First Team All-American, finding herself among the top eight in the country in both the weight throw (2007, 2008) and hammer throw (2007) at the NCAA Championships. The former Big Ten Championships record holder (2007 hammer throw) captured a trio of Big Ten titles, winning the weight throw in 2008 and the hammer throw in 2007 and 2008.

Blaz Rola
Men's Tennis, 2011-13
Â
Blaz Rola enjoyed one of the best collegiate tennis careers, not just at Ohio State, but in all of college tennis. He is the only Buckeye to win an NCAA Singles Championship, and he also won an NCAA Doubles Championship with partner Chase Buchanan. Rola finished his career with a remarkable 215-29 career singles and doubles record.

In addition to being a two-time national champion, Rola was a four-time ITA All-American and a three-time All-Big Ten selection. As a sophomore in 2011-12, he and Buchanan became the first doubles team in collegiate history to win all three collegiate major doubles titles in the same season. The following season, Rola won the NCAA singles title by breezing through the draw, winning all but one of his six matches in straight sets. He was a combined 50-2 as a junior in 2012-13.

During his three seasons, Rola and the Buckeyes went 103-10, winning three Big Ten regular season titles and three Big Ten Tournament titles. Rola's 215 combined victories in just three seasons rank 11th in program history.

Rola turned professional in the summer of 2013 and during his career, he made well over $1 million in career earnings and rose into the Top 100 in the world rankings. He won 29 professional singles and doubles titles and represented his home country of Slovenia on the Slovenia Davis Cup team.

Myles Martin
Wrestling, 2016-19
Â
Myles Martin captained the Buckeyes in 2017 and 2018 and earned letters from 2016-19. As a freshman in 2017, he earned the NCAA title at 174 pounds before moving up to 184, where he took second in 2018 and third in 2019. He also won the Big Ten title at 184 in 2019.

An All-Big Ten selection in 2019, Martin led the Buckeyes in individual victories in 2019 with 29, in 2018 with 30 and as a freshman with 33 in 2016.

His freshman season was remarkable. After shedding his redshirt at the start of 2016, Martin proceeded to place third in the Big Ten Championships before entering the NCAA Tournament as the No. 11 seed.

After advancing to the title match against top seed Bo Nickal of Penn State, Martin avenged a loss in the Big Ten Championships by winning the NCAA title with an 11-9 victory. He became, at the time, the 15th true freshman in history and the first Buckeye to become an NCAA champion while being the first 11 seed to win a title.

Mary Olsen
Women's Gymnastics, 1984-87
Â
Mary Olsen was a four-year letterwinner for the women's gymnastics team from 1984-87 and was a key contributor in the program's five consecutive Big Ten team championships.

Olsen earned five Big Ten titles, helped the team to conference titles all four years of her Buckeye career and was a four-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. She won the all-around crown as a freshman in 1984. In 1985, she became the second Big Ten gymnast, and second Buckeye, to win three conference titles in a single season. She successfully defended her all-around championship and added wins on balance beam and uneven bars. Her fifth Big Ten title was on uneven bars in 1986.

She is one of eight gymnasts in Big Ten gymnastics history to win back-to-back all-around championships and is tied for second in Big Ten Championship history with three individual titles in a single season.

Billy Price
Football, 2014-17
Â
Billy Price is one of the great offensive linemen in Ohio State's storied history. A two-time All-American, including a unanimous All-American in 2017, Price became one of just six Buckeye offensive linemen to win a major national award, joining Jim Parker, John Hicks, Orlando Pace, LeCharles Bentley and Pat Elflein, when he won the Rimington Trophy in 2017. Price also was named the Big Ten Conference's Rimington-Pace offensive lineman of the year in 2017. He set the record for starts and consecutive starts as a Buckeye with 55, respectively. Price was a freshman starter in all 15 games in 2014, including the College Football Playoff national championship game against Oregon, when the Buckeyes won the inaugural CFP title. He was a part of two Big Ten championship teams (2014 and 2017) and he also started bowl game wins over Alabama (2014 Sugar Bowl), Notre Dame (2015 Fiesta Bowl) and USC (2017 Cotton Bowl). He was the unquestioned leader along an offensive line that helped the Buckeyes rank among the Top 20 rushing teams in the nation four consecutive years, including 11th in 2016, 11th in 2015, ninth in 2014 and 17th in 2017 at 243.2 yards per game. The Buckeyes led the Big Ten in rushing three consecutive years between 2015 and 2017. Price was a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, which honors student-athletes with notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and OSU Scholar-Athlete, Price graduated in 2018 with his degree in business administration.

Kim Reeder
Softball, 2006-09
Â
Kim Reeder is one of the most decorated softball players in school history, as she still holds program records for innings pitched (763.2) and wins (77) and is second in strikeouts (706). As a senior in 2009, she set a single-season record with 26 wins and 11 shutouts while helping Ohio State advance to its first NCAA Super Regional. Reeder struck out 215 batters in 199.0 innings and was a Third Team All-American.

Reeder finished her career with a 77-41 record, a 1.55 earned run average and 706 strikeouts. During her sophomore season in 2007, Reeder's efforts in the circle helped the Buckeyes win the Big Ten Tournament championship. Two years later, as a senior in 2009, she earned First Team All-Big Ten honors and became just the second pitcher in program history to be named an All-American. She graduated with a degree in communications and was a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.

Following her Ohio State career, Reeder spent three seasons in professional softball, playing overseas in the Italian Softball League and in Australia. In 222 innings of work in the circle, she had a 1.26 ERA, averaging 1.7 strikeouts per inning.

John "Jack" Varga
Rifle, 1973-77
Â
John "Jack" Varga earned four varsity letters as a member of the rifle team from 1973-77 and was a two-time team captain. An individual Big Ten and sectional champion, Varga helped pioneer the transition of the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference to postal matches to maintain the viability of the conference. He was part of Ohio State teams that claimed Big Ten championships and an NRA sectional crown.

After graduating from Ohio State, Varga continued his education at the College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. He then joined the U.S. Navy where he served 20 years on active duty and competed on the Service Rifle team for 17 years. He was designated a Navy Distinguished Marksman (the only physician and 88th Officer since 1920) and won many 1000-yard Navy matches. In 1993, he was the High Navy shooter at the National Service Rifle Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio, earning both the ADM Arleigh Burke and CAPT Joe Wyatt Trophies.

Alex Wimmers
Baseball, 2008-10

Alex Wimmers, a letterwinner on the Ohio State baseball team in 2008-10, is one of the most decorated pitchers in Buckeye history. In 2009, he threw the first nine-inning no-hitter in program history, picking up 14 strikeouts in a victory over Michigan on May 2. He led the Big Ten that year with 136 strikeouts and was named the B1G Co-Pitcher of the Year, along with earning PING! Baseball First Team All-America honors and second or third team All-America honors from five other awarding publications. In 2010, Wimmers went 9-0 on the mound and was selected the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, becoming the first back-to-back honoree in conference history. He was named the 2010 National Pitcher of the Year by the College Baseball Foundation and became just the second Buckeye to win First Team All-America accolades in consecutive seasons.

Wimmers was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the first round of the 2010 MLB First Year Player Draft. He was called up by the Twins in 2016 and between 2016 and 2017, appeared in 22 major league games.Â
