
Ohio State and Notre Dame Open Home-and-Home Series This Season

The Buckeyes lead the all-time series 9-4
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State and Notre Dame will open a home-and-home series on the hardwood this season. The Buckeyes will host the Fighting Irish on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, and then travel to South Bend for a game next season on Dec. 12, 2026.
The teams have met 13 times previously and Ohio State holds a 9-4 edge in the series. The Buckeyes have won each of the last three meetings with the most recent Notre Dame win coming in 1973. Ohio State is 3-2 in Columbus against the Irish and 4-2 on the road.
The most recent meeting was on Dec. 8, 2020, in South Bend as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Buckeyes took advantage of the sterile environment as fans weren’t allowed in the stands, and they came away with a 90-85 victory. E.J. Liddell led five Buckeyes in double figures with 19 points to go along with 12 rebounds.
The last meeting in Columbus was Notre Dame’s last win in 1973. The Fighting Irish won the overtime period 9-5 to come away with a 76-72 victory in front of over 13,000 fans at St. John Arena. Stephen Repella and Daniel Gerhard each scored 16 points to lead the Buckeyes while Steven Wenner added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Notre Dame freshman Adrian Dantley was assessed a technical foul in the game for dunking.
