COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's golf senior Faith Choi was presented with the NCAA Elite 90 Award on Thursday.
Choi is the first-ever Ohio State women's golfer to win the award. She is the 10th Ohio State student-athlete to earn the Elite 90 Award.
"I'm extremely proud of Faith," said Ohio State head coach Lisa Strom. "Her hard work in the classroom over the past four years makes her so deserving of this honor. It's a testament to her attention to detail, and that has also carried over to her performance on the golf course as well. She is an excellent example of a student-athlete."
The Elite 90 Award is given to the student-athlete on site at the NCAA Championships with the highest cumulative grade point average. Choi, who earned a degree in sport industry earlier this month, has maintained a cumulative grade point average of 4.0.
"I'm extremely grateful to have won this award," said Choi. "I remember learning about this award my freshman year, and it has always been in the back of my mind to try and have a chance at it, so I am truly honored to have won the Elite 90 this year."
The Buckeyes compete in the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa Friday, May 16-Wednesday, May 21 in Carlsbad, Calif.
