COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 25 Ohio State women's gymnastics team's 2025 season came to a close Thursday in the Pennsylvania Regional semifinal of the 2025 National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Championship. The Buckeyes scored a 196.400 to finish third in the session.
Michigan State (197.625) and Kentucky (197.525) advance to Saturday's regional final round with the top two scores of the first semifinal. The Buckeyes finished ahead of Penn State (196.225) in the meet.
The team started the meet with a 49.000 on bars, just its fourth 49 on the apparatus this season. Maisyn Rader and Grace Walker, who made their NCAA regional debuts, led the team with 9.825s. The score tied Walker's career high.
Vetter recorded the Buckeyes' first 9.900 of the meet to lead the team, and finish second overall in the session, on beam in the second rotation. The score matched her season high and was just her second of the year. Warga was second in the rotation for Ohio State, sticking her final collegiate routine and scoring a 9.825. The team added its second 49 of the day, scoring a 49.075 in the event.
The Buckeyes earned a floor score of 49.100 in the third rotation. Kaitlyn Grimes, Rylee Guevara and Vetter tied for the team lead with 9.850s.
Cameron Smith, also competing in her first NCAA regional, tied her career high with a team-high 9.900 on vault in the final rotation. Her score tied for third overall on the apparatus. Sidney Washington, in her final routine of her career, tied her season best with a 9.850. The team finished the rotation with a 49.225.
Individual competitors at the NCAA Championship meet will be determined based on the results of Saturday's regional final. The top scoring student-athlete in each event from the regional semifinal of a team that did not advance to the championship will earn the individual bid.
