
Buckeyes Add Veteran Ohio Native Brandon Noel

Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler has added veteran Ohio native Brandon Noel to the program via the transfer portal. Noel spent the last five seasons at Wright State.
Noel earned All-Horizon League honors in each of the last three seasons and was the conference’s Freshman of the Year in 2022-23. He appeared in 90 games with the Raiders, making 90 starts, and averaging 15.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
The Lucasville, Ohio native had 29 career double-doubles at Wright State and scored 20 or more points 31 times in his three seasons. He averaged 13.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and shot over 60 percent from the floor in his Freshman of the Year campaign in 2022-23. Last year, averaged a career-high 19.0 points with 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 55.2% from the floor.
Noel is a graduate of Chillicothe High School where he was a first team All-Ohio honoree. He suffered a knee injury in his first season at Wright State and then took a traditional redshirt the following year as he worked his way back. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
