NCAA Championships Format
- The 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships will be held March 20-23 in University Park, Pa., hosted by Penn State. The men will compete the first two days, with the women the final two days.
- Qualification to the NCAA Championships is based on regular season results and NCAA regional finish. No more than two fencers per gender per weapon from a school may be selected. Each region is allocated a certain number of spots for the NCAA Championships, with 144 total competitors selected.
- At the championships, fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After round-robin, the Top 4 finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with winners fencing to determine first and second places and non-advancing fencers awarded a tie for third place. An institution's place finish in the championships will be based on points earned by each individual. A team will be awarded one point for each victory by its student-athletes during round-robin competition.
