
Late Bonus Point Wins Secure 27-13 Victory at Indiana

No. 4 Buckeyes Take on No. 1 Penn State in Final Dual of 2025 Friday in Columbus
After trailing 9-8 after the first five matches, the Buckeyes won four of the final five battles, including three by bonus points to defeat the Hoosiers in Bloomington.Â
No. 5 Carson Kharchla (174) and No. 19 Ryder Rogotzke (184) won the final two matches of the dual to secure the victory. Kharchla defeated Roman Rogotzke, Ryder's brother, by technical fall to earn five team points for the Buckeyes to put the dual out of reach. Ryder then capped off the afternoon with a pin in less than a minute against IU's DJ Washington for Ohio State's final six team points in the win.

197-No. 21 Gabe Sollars (IND) def. No. 18 Seth Shumate (OSU) | D, 10-6
Shumate struck first with a quick takedown in the first 15 seconds of the opening period. Sollars escaped to trail 3-1 before Sollars got a three-point nearfall for a 4-3 lead. Sollars added four more nearfall points for an 8-3 lead after the first three minutes. Shumate opened with a reversal in the second to make it 8-5 Indiana. Shumate cut Sollars loose to make it 9-5 after five minutes. Sollars added another escape point early in the third. Shumate earned a point after a stalling call on Sollars to make it 10-6. That was the final score for an Indiana win by decision.Â
HWT-No. 9 Nick Feldman (OSU) def. No. 18 Jacob Bullock (IND) | D, 4-2
Feldman earned a speedy takedown and led 3-1 after a Bullock escape. That score held going to the second period. Feldman added a point with an escape early in the second to lead 4-1 with two periods completed. Bullock escaped quickly early in the third to make it 4-2. Feldman held on to win by decision, 4-2.Â
125-No. 20 Jacob Moran (IND) def. No. 18 Brendan McCrone (OSU) | D, 3-2
After a scoreless opening period, McCrone scored first with an escape in the second to lead 1-0 after five minutes. Moran scored a takedown with under a minute left to take a 3-1 lead before a McCrone escape made it 3-2 Indiana. Moran finished off the match to win by decision, 3-2 .Â
133-Angelo Rini (IND) def. No. 10 Nic Bouzakis (OSU) | D, 6-3
The first period ended with no scoring. Bouzakis opened the second with a reversal for a 2-1 lead after a Rini escape. Rini chose bottom to start the third and got the reversal to go ahead 3-3 after a Bouzakis escape. Rini then scored a takedown with under a minute left to earn the win by decision, 6-3.Â
141-No. 1 Jesse Mendez (OSU) def. Lucas Peters (IND) | TF, 19-3
Mendez scored often in the opening period to take a 16-2 lead in less than two minutes in the first. Up 16-3 to start the second, Mendez scored the final takedown to win by technical fall, 19-3.Â

D'Emilio earned an edge-of-the-mat takedown with a minute left in the first for a 3-0 lead. Buttler was cut loose for an escape point to make it 3-1 after three' minutes of action. D'Emilio added an escape point early in the second in addition to a point for a Buttler stall call to make it 5-1 Buckeyes after two periods. D'Emilio cut Buttler for an IU escape point before D'Emilio finished the match to win by decision, 5-3.Â
157-Brandon Cannon (OSU) def. Ryan Garvick (IND) | TF, 18-3
Cannon took a 3-1 lead with a takedown followed by another takedown and two-point nearfall at the end of the first to take an 8-1 lead. Cannon escaped early in the second before another takedown for a 12-1 advantage. Cannon added a takedown after a Garvick escape in the third to go up 15-3. Cannon then got the win by technical fall, 18-3.Â
165-No. 19 Tyler Lillard (IND) def. Brock Herman (OSU) | MD, 15-2
Lillard took a 3-0 lead with a late takedown in the first. Herman added an escape point late in the second to go to the final two minutes down 3-1. Lillard escaped to open the third to lead 4-1. He added a takedown and cut Herman to lead 7-2. Lillard added another takedown and four-point nearfall to finish the match with a major decision win, 15-2.Â
174-No. 5 Carson Kharchla (OSU) def. Roman Rogotzke (IND) | TF, 19-4
Kharchla started with a pair of takedowns and a four-point nearfall to lead 10-2 midway through the opening period. Kharchla added three more takedowns to earn the 19-4 win by technical fall. Â
184-No. 19 Ryder Rogotzke (OSU) def. DJ Washington (IND) | F, 0:59
Washington scored first after a scramble but Rogotzke quickly countered with a reversal and then got the pin at :59.Â
