
Buckeyes Take On Big Ten Championships This Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The No. 13 Ohio State men's swimming and diving team will compete at the Big Ten Championships this week, which will be held at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at Minnesota.

Wednesday, Feb. 19 – 5:00 p.m. finals only

- Finals will begin at 5:00 p.m. CT each day, with prelims beginning Thursday-Saturday at 10:00 a.m. CT. Wednesday's session will be finals only. Diving consolation finals begin right at 5:00 p.m., with swimming finals beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT Thursday-Saturday. Early heats of the 1650 free will begin at 3:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, with the fastest heats during the finals session.
- Doors will open one hour prior to each session.
- All sessions of the Big Ten Championships will be streamed on B1G+.
- In addition to the Buckeyes, the competing teams are No. 2 Indiana, No. 10 Michigan, No. 24 Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue, No. 16 USC and Wisconsin.

- The Buckeyes placed second at last year's Big Ten Championships, earning a top three finish for the 15th consecutive season.
- Tomas Navikonis is the defending champion in the 200 free. He won last season with a time of 1:32.01. Navikonis was the bronze medalist in the 100 free with a time of 42.22.
- Sam Campbell was the winner of last year's 1650 free, finishing in 14:42.63.
- Charlie Clark finished third in the 1650 free to earn the bronze medal. He finished in 14:48.39.
- Alex Axon medaled in the 500 free, placing third with a time of 4:13.90.
- The 800 free relay team of Navikonis, Alex Metzler, Axon and Tristan Jankovics won silver with a time of 6:12.39, which is a program record.
- Campbell and Navikonis were named to the All-Big Ten First Team and Axon, Jankovics and Metzler earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors.
- The men will host their last chance meet on Sunday, March 9. The NCAA Zone Diving Championships will be at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion March 10-12 and the NCAA Championships are March 26-29 in Washington.
