Birden, Shumate Earn 2025 Midlands Titles

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Buckeyes placed at the 2025 Midlands Championships Tuesday in Evanston, Illinois, with Ohio State claiming titles in both the 165 and 197-pound weight classes.

e'Than Birden (165) and Seth Shumate (197) each put together 5-0 records to win their respective brackets at the event.

Vincent Kilkeary (125) and Maddox Shaw (149) earned seventh-place finishes in their brackets.

No. 2 Ohio State (10-0) returns to dual competition Sunday at Oregon State (2-0). Match time is set for 5 p.m. ET with Flowrestling.org providing the live stream.
