Upset win at 174 vs. No. 9 NC State top league performance last weekend
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Graduate Carson Kharchla was named the Big Ten Wrestler of the Week after the No. 2 Buckeyes toppled No. 9 NC State last Friday at the Covelli Center.Â
Kharchla, ranked No. 5 at 174 pounds nationally, faced the Wolfpack's No. 3-ranked Matthew Singleton and came away with an 8-4 victory to help Ohio State win 26-10 in the Top 10 clash.Â
Against Singleton, Kharchla did not give up a takedown while scoring on a reversal and a pair of takedowns for the victory.Â
Ohio State enters the weekend at 8-0 and will next compete at the 2025 Journeymen 2025 Collegiate Duals against Little Rock and No. 3 Iowa State Sunday in Nashville.
