
A Program Record-Tying Seven First-Team All-Americans

The Sporting News honored Sonny Styles and more, giving program record-tying number of AAs
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A program record-tying number seven Ohio State Buckeyes have been named a first-team All-American this year with the news today that Sr. LB Sonny Styles has been named to The Sporting News All-America first team.
Styles joins Jr. SAF Caleb Downs, Jr. DT Kayden McDonald and So. WR Jeremiah Smith on The Sporting News' first team with Sr. DE Caden Curry, Jr. LB Arvell Reese and Jr. WR Carnell Tate named to its second team.
Ohio State's seven first-team All-Americans in 2025 are: Curry, Downs, Sr. C Carson Hinzman, McDonald, Reese, Smith and Styles.
Styles and Reese are the first Ohio State tandem of linebackers to be named first-team All-America in the same season.
The 1974 Ohio State team is the only other Ohio State team with seven first-team All-Americans. That team was led by RB Archie Griffin, who was joined on first All-America teams by CB Neal Colzie, DT Pete Cusick, DE Van Ness DeCree, C Steve Myers, OT Kurt Schumacher and P Tom Skladany.
