Four Buckeyes Two-Thirds to Consensus All-America Status

Caleb Downs, Kayden McDonald, Arvell Reese and Jeremiah Smith named to Associated Press first-team
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The second of the five All-America teams that determine consensus and unanimous All-America status – the Associated Press team – was announced Monday and four Buckeyes were named to the AP first team:
- Jr. SAF Caleb Downs;
- Jr. DT Kayden McDonald;
- Jr. LB Arvell Reese; and
- So. WR Jeremiah Smith
All four players were named last Friday to the Walter Camp All-America team meaning all are two-thirds of the way toward consensus All-America status with three more teams – the AFCA tomorrow, The Sporting News Wednesday and the FWAA on Thursday – still to be named.
Carnell Tate and Sonny Styles each picked up a second All-American honor as both were named second-team All-Americans by the Associated Press. Julian Sayin earned a second honor and Caden Curry a third as both were named to the AP third team.
A total of 52 media members submitted ballots for the AP All-America team.
