Svensson Earns WCHA Rookie of the Week Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman forward Hilda Svensson is this week's WCHA Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. The award is her fourth of the season.
Svensson finished the D1 in DC tournament with a team-high six points. She recorded her first career hat trick with three goals in the 8-0 win over No. 10 Clarkson, finishing the game with a career-high five points. The Oskarshamn, Sweden native assisted two of the team's three power play goals in game one of the tournament and tallied one goal in the second and two in the third period.
In game two, she added another point on the power play with an assist on the Buckeyes' second power play goal of the day. Her efforts on the power play helped the unit finish over 50% on the power play last weekend against two top 15 teams.
Svensson leads the Buckeyes with 31 points on the year. Her point total and 12 goals and 19 assists also She is one of seven players in the country with 30+ points on the year.
