Buckeyes Compete with National Teams in the Bye Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's hockey team is on a bye week this week, but six student-athletes will be competing with their respective national teams in the meantime.
Buckeye captains Joy Dunne and Emma Peschel make the short trip up I-71 to play in the Rivalry Series while sophomore Mira Jungåker and freshmen Jenna Raunio, Hilda Svensson and Sanni Vanhanen make the trip to Sweden for the latest leg of the Women's Euro Hockey Tour.
Rivalry Series Comes to the Buckeye State
The 2025 Rivalry Series between the United States and Canada kicks off this week with game one set for Thursday, Nov. 6 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. The Americans and Canadians will face off at 7 p.m.
Ohio State will be well represented on both rosters, with eight players total across the teams. Dunne and Peschel join Cayla Barnes ('24) and Hannah Bilka ('24) in skating for the United States. Jenn Gardiner ('24), Sophie Jaques ('23), Emma Maltais ('23) and Natalie Spooner ('12) will represent Canada.
USA Hockey hosts the first two games, with the series continuing Saturday, Nov. 8 in Buffalo before heading to Canada for game in Edmonton, Alberta Dec. 10 and 13.

Women's Euro Tour – Lidl Hockey Games
Sweden is set to host the Lidl Hockey Games, the latest stop on the 2025 Women's Euro Hockey Tour, and four Buckeyes will compete in the tournament.
Representing the home team are Jungåker, Raunio and Svensson and competing against them for Finland is Vanhanen.
The tournament will be held Nov. 5-8 in Ängelholm, Sweden. The Euro Hockey Tour started in August with the Four Nations Tournament in Kloten, Switzerland between the Swiss, Sweden, Finland and Czechia and continues with the Six Nations Tournament in December, where teams from the United States and Canada will join.
