COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman running back Bo Jackson has been named the Big Ten Conference freshman of the week this week for his efforts in Ohio State's 42-9 victory over Rutgers Saturday at Ohio Stadium.
Jackson rushed for 110 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead a 254-yard, four-touchdown ground assault by the Buckeyes. Jackson had a career-high 19 carries and scored from 15 and 10 yards out. This was his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game, third in his last four games and fifth on the season.
Jackson leads the team and is seventh in the Big Ten Conference with 835 rushing yards. His 80.6 yards per game and 6.59 per carry average rank fifth and sixth in the Big Ten, respectively. He has scored five touchdowns.
