COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State doubles teams of Aidan Kim/Bryce Nakashima and Nikita Filin/Brandon Carpico both advanced with wins Wednesday in the opening round of the NCAA Doubles Championships in Orlando.Â
Kim fell in his Round of 32 singles match earlier in the day.
Kim and Nakashima cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Matei Christian Onofrei and Andre Steinbach of Louisville while Filin and Carpico earned a hard-fought battle with Florida State's Luis Felipe Miguel/Erik Schiessl, 7-6(3), 7-5.Â
Karim Al-Amin/Onrej Horak (MTSU) are up next for Kim/Nakashima Thursday. Filin/Carpico will take on Alex Chang/Alexander Razeghi (STAN).Â
