
Svensson, Swiderski Earn Player of the Week Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) announced its player of the week awards Monday with Ohio State women's hockey's Sara Swiderski and Hilda Svensson earning honors. Swiderski is the league's Defender of the Week and Svensson is Rookie of the Week.
Swiderski led the Buckeyes with six points on the weekend. She recorded a career single game high three points in game one with a career high three assists. She tied her career high with three points on a goal and two assists in game two. The Langley, B.C. native also finished with a team-best +8 on ice. The award is her first of her career.
Svensson tallied two goals in game one and added three assists in game two. She now has points in the Buckeyes' last six games and multiple goals in three games for her career. The Oskarshamn, Sweden native has earned the league's Rookie of the Week award three times in her first 12 collegiate games.
