Women's Gymnastics, 1984-87
Mary Olsen was a four-year letterwinner for the women’s gymnastics team from 1984-87 and was a key contributor in the program’s five consecutive Big Ten team championships.
Olsen earned five Big Ten titles, helped the team to conference titles all four years of her Buckeye career and was a four-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. She won the all-around crown as a freshman in 1984. In 1985, she became the second Big Ten gymnast, and second Buckeye, to win three conference titles in a single season. She successfully defended her all-around championship and added wins on balance beam and uneven bars. Her fifth Big Ten title was on uneven bars in 1986.
She is one of eight gymnasts in Big Ten gymnastics history to win back-to-back all-around championships and is tied for second in Big Ten Championship history with three individual titles in a single season.
