Buckeyes Set to Open 2025-26 Season at Clarion Open

Dual campaign opens Nov. 9 at UTC
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will send a contingent of wrestlers to the 2025 Clarion (Pa.) Open Sunday. The outcome at several weight classes will help determine the dual-match lineup for 2025-26.
No. 5 Ohio State opens the dual season at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Nov. 9. Match time is set for 1 p.m. with ESPN+ providing the live stream. The Buckeyes open the home dual season Nov. 20 against Kent State with B1G+ providing the live stream with a 7 p.m. start.
Senior Jesse Mendez, Ohio State's three-time All-American and owner of back-to-back NCAA Championships at 141, will open his season Saturday at the 2025 NWCA All-Star Classic at Jersey Mike's Arena on the Rutgers University campus. Coverage of the event on Flowrestling.org starts at 7 p.m. with No. 1-ranked Mendez taking the mat against Iowa State's No. 6 Anthony Echemendia in the final bout of the night. Between the first pair of duals this season, Ohio State will take part in the 2025 National Duals Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Buckeyes open with Wyoming at noon Nov. 15 at the BOK Center. The winner of that bout will face either Virginia Tech or Minnesota at 6 p.m. later that day. Complete Bracket.
The inaugural National Duals Invitational will feature many of the top teams in NCAA Division 1 wrestling with $200,000 up for grabs for the winning squad. Both the second- and third-place teams will earn $150,000, with prize money extending through eighth place.
Competition at the Clarion Open starts at 9 a.m. at Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
