How it Happened
- Minnesota scored first at 4:46 and added on to the lead at 11:33. The Gopher's third goal of the period came on the power play at 13:01.
- With under six minutes to play in the first, Ohio State held the Gophers without a shot attempt and took eight themselves with five landing on target.
- The fourth shot on goal in that span resulted in a goal for the Buckeyes. A faceoff in the Minnesota zone with 35 seconds on the clock was won by Jocelyn Amos who knocked the puck to the edge of the circle along the slot to Joy Dunne. Dunne one-timed the puck past Gopher goaltender Hannah Clark to put Ohio State on the board with 33 seconds to play in the first.
- The Buckeyes had a chance to pull within one of Minnesota when Mira Jungaker sent a pass right over the top of the goal crease that just missed the stick of Amos, who was waiting in front of the goal as time expired in the opening frame.
- Minnesota made it 4-1 at 3:19 in the second period and Genny Klein took over for Hailey MacLeod in goal for the Buckeyes.
- Sanni Vanhanen gave Ohio State its second goal of the day after tipping in a shot from Jenna Raunio past Clark just 50 seconds into the final period.
- Minnesota scored at 9:11 in the third period for the 5-2 advantage, but Raunio responded with a goal 35 seconds later.
- A five-minute major for a hit from behind was assessed to Macy Rasmussen at 12:25 and the Gophers took advantage, lighting the lamp with 2:56 for the final 6-3 score.
- Raunio's goal was her first of her career. She also recorded her third career multi-point game with an assist for two points on the day. She leads the team with eight points and seven assists in six games played this year.
- Dunne's goal is her fourth in as many games played this season.
