COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 5 Ohio State (8-0) remained undefeated in dual competition with a 40-3 win over visiting Oregon State (1-4) Sunday at the Covelli Center (4,088). Midway through the match graduate Sammy Sasso, wrestling at 165, earned his 100th career victory with a 1-0 win by decision over the Beavers' Steele Starren.

125       No. 13 Maximo Renteria (ORE ST) def. No. 6 Brendan McCrone (OSU) | D, 6-5
Renteria opened the scoring with a takedown followed by a McCrone reversal to make it 3-2 Beavers. Renteria countered with a reversal of his own to make it 5-2. McCrone added another reversal to cut it to 5-4 at the end of the first period. Renteria opened the second with an escape and led 6-4 after five minutes. McCrone escaped early in the third but Renteria got the win by decision, 6-5.

133       No. 9 Nic Bouzakis (OSU) def. Damion Elliott (ORE ST) | MD, 11-3
Bouzakis scored first with a takedown just over halfway through the first period. Elliott earned an escape to trail 3-1 headed to the second. Bouzakis opened with an escape and added a takedown for a 7-1 lead. He added another at the buzzer to end the second with a 10-2 advantage. Elliott escaped early in the third but with a point for riding time, Bouzakis got the 11-3 win by major decision.

141       No. 2 Jesse Mendez (OSU) def. Krayle Stormer (ORE ST) | TF, 17-2
After a scramble, Mendez got the opening takedown of the match. Stormer got an escape but Mendez quickly added another takedown and a four-point nearfall for a 10-2 lead after an Oregon State escape. Another takedown by Mendez with a four-point nearfall ended the match with a 17-2 win by technical fall.

149       No. 12 Dylan D'Emilio (OSU) def. Ayden Garver (ORE ST) | MD, 18-5
The Buckeyes scored first with a D'Emilio takedown at the midway point of the opening period. After a Garver escape, D'Emilio led 3-1 after the first three minutes. An escape upped the lead to 4-1. D'Emilio added a penalty point for a Garver stalling call and added a takedown for an 8-1 lead going into the third. Garver added an escape to open the final period before D'Emilio added a takedown and another Garver escape made it 11-3 Buckeyes. D'Emilio added a pair of takedowns in the third to win by major decision, 18-5.

157       No. 9 Paddy Gallagher (OSU) def. Christopher Hamblin (ORE ST) | D, 6-4
Hamblin opened the scoring with a takedown. Gallagher quickly escaped and got a takedown for a 4-3 lead after the first period. A Gallagher escape upped the lead to 5-3 after two periods. Hamblin escaped late and with a point for riding time, Gallagher got the win by decision, 6-4.

165       No. 11 Sammy Sasso (OSU) def. Steele Starren (ORE ST) | D, 1-0
Neither wrestler scored in the opening period. Sasso scored first with an escape in the second to lead 1-0 after five minutes of action. Sasso held on to win for his 100th career victory, 1-0 by decision.

174       No. 11 Carson Kharchla (OSU) def. Sean Harman (ORE ST) | MD, 14-4
Kharchla got on the board first with a takedown to lead 3-1 after a Harman escape. After another takedown, Harman escape, Kharchla led 6-2. The opening period ended with Kharchla leading 9-2. Kharchla added an escape to lead 10-2 heading to the third period. Harman added an escape before a Kharchla takedown made it 13-4. Kharchla got the win by major decision with a point for riding time after a Harman escape made it 14-4.

184       No. 14 Ryder Rogotzke (OSU) def. TJ McDonnell (ORE ST) F, 3:51
McDonnell scored first and after a Rogotzke escape led 3-1. After a scramble following a McDonnell takedown, Rogotzke took an 8-6 lead with a takedown and four-point nearfall. Rogotzke added an escape point to open the second and then got the pin at 3:51.

197       Seth Shumate (OSU) def. Vaun Halstead (ORE ST) | F, 5:39
Shumate led 3-0 after three minutes with a first period takedown. He added a point with an escape early in the second before a takedown increase the lead to 7-0 Buckeyes. After a Halstead escape, Shumate got another takedown to lead 10-1 going to the third. Shumate added a takedown before he got the pin 5:39.

HWT    No. 7 Nick Feldman (OSU) def. No. 21 Brett Mower (ORE ST) | TF, 23-6
Feldman recorded three takedowns around a pair of Mower escapes to lead 9-2 after the opening period. Mower escaped early in the second before a pair of Feldman takedowns made it 15-4. Feldman added two more takedowns and a two-point nearfall to win the match by technical fall, 23-6
