2024 Hermann Awards Banquet
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Michael Adedokun, a senior midfielder from Eruwa, Nigeria, was named the winner of the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy Friday by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletics Club at a banquet held at the MAC in St. Louis, Missouri.
The MAC Hermann Trophy, the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer, has been awarded annually since 1967.
Adedokun, a USC First Team All-American, led the Buckeyes and the Big Ten in 2024 with 11 goals, 11 assists and 33 points. He helped Ohio State to a 16-2-4 overall record and to the program's second appearance in the College Cup.
The Buckeyes earned the program's first No. 1 ranking and No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament in 2024.
Ohio State won the 2024 Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed and shared the league's regular-season title with Adedokun leading the way.
In the 2024 postseason, Adedokun scored three goals on 18 shots in six matches (5-1). He put seven shots on net and had two game-winning scores.
The Big Ten coaches named Adedokun the league's 2024 Midfielder of the Year and to the All-Big Ten First Team.
Graduate defender Siggi Magnusson also was a First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2024 and joined Adedokun as one of 15 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalists. Ohio State was one of three universities with two semifinalists in 2024.
Brian Maisonneuve, head coach of the Buckeyes, earned the MAC Hermann Trophy in 1994 following his senior season at Indiana.
