COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 13 Ohio State women's swimming and diving team won the Tim Welsh Classic, which wrapped up on Saturday. The Buckeyes finished with 1,623 points, dominating competitors Notre Dame (818 points), Akron (803 points), Indiana State (478 points) and Wisconsin (50 points).
The No. 14 Buckeye men's swimmers were the only men's swim team at the event. The men's divers competed against Notre Dame (34 points) and Wisconsin (27 points) and placed first with 141 points.
Women's Meet Notes

Women's Meet Notes
- Mila Nikanorov opened the meet with a resounding win in the 1650 free. Her NCAA B standard time of 16:22.17 was 20 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer, who finished in 16:42.97.
- Krista Marlin was the winner of the 200 back with an NCAA B standard time of 1:53.32. Allie Fenska's time of 1:56.65 earned her a third-place finish and is also an NCAA B cut.
- Teresa Ivan (48.57) and Erin Little (48.75) finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 free. Both times are NCAA B standards.
- Ava DeAngelis (2:09.61), Danika Varda (2:09.74), Paige Delma (2:11.81), Reese Dehen (2:13.83), Nell Cagle (2:14.40) and Mia Rankin (2:14.49) took the top six spots in the 200 breast. DeAngelis, Varda and Delma's times are NCAA B cuts.
- Jessica Eden placed fourth in the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.24.
- The relay team of Little, Sienna Angove, Ivan and Rachel Bockrath won the 400 free relay with an NCAA A standard time of 3:13.55.
- Paola Pineda Vazquez won the 1-meter dive with an NCAA Zones qualifying score of 313.75 and Lent Hentschel placed second with an NCAA Zones qualifying score of 307.05. Mia Prusiecki (267.40) also turned in an NCAA Zones qualifying score.
- Charlie Clark had the fastest time for the Buckeyes in the 1650 free, touching in an NCAA B standard time of 14:57.56. Mason Edmun (15:04.21) also turned in an NCAA B cut.
- Cornelius Jahn (1:42.37), Tristan Jankovics (1:43.08) and Martin Perecinsky (1:43.09) all recorded NCAA B cuts in the 200 back.
- Tomas Navikonis' NCAA B standard time of 43.18 in the 100 free was the top time for the Buckeyes.
- Luke Vickers had the fastest time for Ohio State in the 200 breast with a 1:56.27.
- Alex Metzler turned in an NCAA B cut in the 200 fly, touching the wall at 1:45.20.
- In the 400 free relay, the team of Daniel Baltes, Jahn, Mario McDonald and Jankovics turned in the quickest time with a 2:52.07.
- Clayton Chaplin was the winner of the 3-meter dive, turning in an NCAA Zones qualifying score of 383.60. Tyler Read placed third with a score of 353.90, which is also an NCAA Zones qualifier.
- The Buckeyes head to Pitt for a dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 1 at noon.
