Vetter Named B1G Gymnast of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State redshirt junior all-arounder Tory Vetter was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. She shares this week's title with UCLA's Jordan Chiles.

Vetter won the all-around for the second meet in a row in Saturday's win over Iowa, finishing the day with a season-best score of 39.575. She has now led Big Ten gymnasts in the all-around for two straight weeks to start the season. Vetter currently ranks seventh in the country in the all-around.

She won the floor title with a career-high tying 9.925 and won the bars title with a career-high 9.925. The Hilliard, Ohio native also earned a share of the beam title with a 9.875 on the apparatus

Her efforts helped the Buckeyes (2-2, 1-0 B1G) win the vault, beam and floor team titles in their first home meet of the season.

The Buckeyes continue their home schedule next Friday, Jan. 24 against Michigan State. The meet is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Covelli Center. Tickets for Ohio State women's gymnastics meets can be purchased HERE.
