Buckeyes open their campaign at home on Saturday
Schedule Preview
- Ohio State Rifle set to begin 2024 campaign against Mt. Aloysious College on Saturday
- The Ohio State University Rifle Team gets their 2024 season underway with a home match vs. Mt. Aloysious College on Saturday, September 28 at the Hugh W. Wylie Range at Converse Hall.
- This match will mark the first ever NCAA Rifle competition for Mt. Aloysious College and Head Coach Siarra Crum who announced the addition of their NCAA Rifle Team last spring.
- The remainder of the Buckeyes fall schedule includes matches at Alaska, Citadel, and UTEP with home competitions against Murray State, UTEP, Nebraska, Navy, and Ole Miss.
- The spring portion of the season has Ohio State competing at TCU, and MIT with home matches against Morehead State, Air Force, and Alaska.
- The 2025 Patriot Rifle Conference Championship will again be hosted by The X Count in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Ohio State's NCAA Qualifier match will take place in Columbus on February 22.
New Patriot Rifle Conference Member – Ole Miss
- The Patriot Rifle Conference welcomed new member Ole Miss this offseason
- The addition of Ole Miss brings the total PRC membership to 7 teams (Air Force, Alaska, Nebraska, Ohio State, TCU, & UTEP)
Returning and New Team Members
- The team returns eight athletes from last season
- Derek Keiser and Paige Hollowell are returning as NCAA Individual Qualifiers from last season's NCAA Rifle Championships
- Nathan Wehrlen, Eva Horgan, & Derek Keiser make up the team's senior class
- Pagie Hollowell, Lillian Warren, and John Hamilton begin their third campaigns
- Dylan Gregory and Andi Hanson make up the sophomore class
- Three new members join the team: Gabriella Sprague (Dubois, Pa.) & Summer Lytle (Windsor, Va.) join the team as incoming freshman     Â
- Andrew Duross (Marlborough, Mass.) joins the team in his third year after competing for two seasons at the University of Akron.
NCAA Championship Qualification
- The qualification for the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championship is made up of a team's three score average combined with their NCAA Qualifier Score.
- The three score average is built over the course of the season and is made up of a team's three highest scores from three different match locations
- This score is then added to a team's NCAA Qualifier score with the top 8 team's qualifying for the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships.
- The 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships will take place in Lexington, KY and will be hosted by the University of Kentucky.
