Buckeyes back in action Friday at home vs. Indiana
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior midfielder Luciano Pechota and freshman defenseman Nick McKenry were named the Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Tuesday.
Pechota scored three times last week in shutouts in the first two Big Ten matches of the season. He netted a pair of goals in a 5-0 win at Penn State before scoring the final goal in a 3-0 home win over Rutgers last Sunday.
McHenry has started the last three matches for injured senior Nathan Demian. The Buckeyes have earned shutouts in all three matches with McHenry in the starting lineup.
Playing the full 90 minutes in his starts, McHenry has been part of a defense that has allowed opponents just 26 shots and only nine on goal over the last three matches.
No. 4 Ohio State, undefeated at 7-0-1 on the year overall and 2-0-0 in league play, takes on Indiana in Columbus at 7 p.m. Friday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The game will be streamed live by B1G+.
