Londot Named Big Ten Player of the Week

Graduate Emily Londot had three double-doubles and led all three matches in kills this past weekend.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly women's volleyball awards on Monday. Graduate opposite Emily Londot was named Big Ten Player of the Week. This is the first time this season and seventh time in her career that she has been named Big Ten Player of the Week.
Londot led the Buckeyes in their first home weekend of the season, including a sweep against then No. 20 Miami FL. Londot averaged 5.00 kills, 2.83 digs and 1.08 blocks per set, also leading Ohio State with seven aces. She totaled 73.5 points and recorded a double-double in each of the three matches this weekend as well as led all three matches in kills.
Londot began the weekend with 16 kills, a season-high 13 digs and three blocks, also matching her career-high five aces in the sweep of Miami. She had seven kills in the first set and back-to-back aces to decide the set, also recording the kill to end the match. In the five-set win against Buffalo, Londot totaled a season-high 29 kills, matched her career-high seven blocks and added 11 digs and three assists. She went 9-for-11 with only one error to hit .727 in the first set and wrapped up the match going 7-for-10 without an error (.700) in the fifth set. Londot had the set-clinching kill in the fourth set and the match-clinching kill in the fifth. Against Wright State, Londot totaled 15 kills, 10 digs, three blocks, three assists and two aces.
This season, Londot leads Ohio State with 4.56 kills/set (also leading the Big Ten), 173.5 points and 14 aces through 32 sets. She leads all non-liberos on the team with 2.19 digs/set. Londot also made moves among the Ohio State all-time career leaders, moving up to second in kills (1,864), third in points (2,113), ninth in block assists (328) and 18th in digs (1,030 – including the 1,000th in her career) in addition to being ranked 16th in total blocks (347).
