Trio Named Big Ten Players to Watch in 2024

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State enters the 2024 season picked in the No. 6 spot of the expanded Big Ten Conference preseason poll, the league office announced Wednesday.
With the addition of Washington and UCLA to the Big Ten, there are now 11 men's soccer programs in the conference.
Three Buckeyes were picked as players to watch in 2024 by the league coaches.
Ohio State seniors Michael Adedokun and Siggi Magnusson along with junior Luciano Pechota were named to the league's list of athletes to watch this year.
Adedokun, now in his second year with the Buckeyes following a transfer from Dayton, is a midfielder from Eruwa, Nigeria. He played in 16 games a year ago and posted three goals to go with a pair of assists for a total of eight points.
Magnusson also is in his second year in Columbus. The Iceland native led Ohio State's defense a year ago. He appeared in 17 matches and played nearly 1,500 minutes.
Pechota, a midfielder from Avon, Ohio, has six goals and four assists over his Buckeye career. Three of his scores have been game winners.
Ohio State opens the 2024 season at 8 p.m. Thursday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium against Cleveland State.
