On training in fall camp with multiple returning players
"The presentation of our defense is a big deal, are we showing what we're playing or are we disguising. We need to be more aggressive in terms of the calls, getting more blitz's, running more pressures, getting our defensive line in one on one match ups. If you're looking at areas you can get better at those are two that come to mind."
"He is a coaches dream, he understands everything, picks everything up, takes the meeting room to the field, locked in in meetings, takes great notes, he is a pro."
On Sonny Styles
"Sonny has proven to be a guy you can count on in the big moments. He has gained weight, strength, and he is well respected by everybody. He makes that move to will position and you see a lot of production and a guy who understands football. I've had a lot of success with bringing safety's down to be linebackers because they have an idea of the bigger picture and everything that's going on from sideline to sideline and Sonny knows that."
On producing more turnovers
"Things we tracked this spring and we will track in fall camp are presentation, our blitz execution, and then our turnovers. That's the only way I knew how to do it, what you emphasize is what you'll get. We've created that in practice, not just the turnover but do we see you actually going through the punch, pulling the ball out, matching the hand of the quarterback, all those things that create the turnover. You come up with an elaborate point system and you start giving guys point for taking a swing here or doing things that you think will create turnovers and you just start grading them on that. We were not top 5 or even top 10 in that and we need to be."
