Foilist wins European Championships crown
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Foilist Dasha Myroniuk, who recently completed her sophomore season for the Ohio State fencing team with a bronze medal at the NCAA Championships, continued her run of success, capturing the gold medal at the U23 European Championships in Antalya, Turkey. She and her teammates also captured the silver medal in the team event at the championships.
She tied for third at the NCAA Championships, earning First Team All-America honors. The native of Kiev, Ukraine, captured the Central Collegiate Fencing Association individual title and earned a spot on the All-CCFC First Team. She was fourth at the NCAA Regionals and a Second Team All-Midwest Region honoree.Â
As a freshman in 2022-23, Myroniuk earned Second Team All-America accolades with a seventh-place finish at the national championships. She was the conference champion, won bronze at the NCAA Regionals and was a second-team all-region selection.Â
