Powell Selected by Flyers in NHL Draft

Forward led the USHL in goals in 2023-24
COLUMBUS, Ohio --Â The Philadelphia Flyers selected Noah Powell, a new member of the Ohio State men's hockey team, in the fifth round (No. 158 overall) of the NHL Entry Draft in Las Vegas Saturday.
Powell, a forward from Northbrook, Ill., was a Second Team All-USHL selection in 2023-24 after leading the league in goals (43) and power play goals (16) while playing for the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He totaled 74 points on the year while skating in 61 regular-season games and then had a 2-3-5 line in 11 playoff contests. In 2022-23, Powell had 19 points, with eight goals and 11 assists, in 53 regular-season games for Dubuque. He played at Shattuck St. Mary's and for the Chicago Mission before moving to the USHL.Â
This summer, Powell will attend the Flyers' development camp. He is one of at least eight Buckeyes at development camps around the league.
