
Buckeyes Move Into Fifth Place After Second Round of NCAA Regionals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team has moved into fifth place after round two of NCAA Regionals at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas on Tuesday.
The Buckeyes carded a one-over 289 in the second round and have a 36-hole team score of 583 (+7). Ohio State is shooting fourth-best among the 12-team field on par 5s; the Buckeyes are two-under with a 4.95 stroke average. The team has totaled 114 pars and 24 birdies.
Kary Hollenbaugh leads the Buckeyes with a two-round score of 142 (-2). She carded a 73 (+1) on Tuesday and is tied for seventh place. Hollenbaugh has shot par on 22 holes and she leads the Buckeyes in birdies with eight.
Faith Choi moved four spots up the leaderboard to finish round two tied for 11th place. She fired a one-under 71 and is even (144) through the first 36 holes of play. Choi has shot even par on 26 holes and has birdied five holes.
Caley McGinty is tied for 36th place with a two-round score of 150 (+6). She shot 77 (+5) on Tuesday. McGinty has 20 pars and five birdies.
Jillian Bourdage shaved seven strokes off her round one score of 79 to shoot an even 72 in round two. She jumped 11 spots up the leaderboard and is tied for 42nd place with an overall score of 151 (+7). Bourdage leads the Buckeyes in pars with 27.
Kailie Vongsaga, who subbed in for the Buckeyes on Tuesday, carded a 73 (+1). Vongsaga's was one of the four counting scores on the day. She shot even par on 11 holes and birdied three.
The final round of the NCAA Regionals is on Wednesday, May 8. The top five teams and top individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.
