
Hollenbaugh Paces Buckeyes on Day One in Bryan

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Paced by Kary Hollenbaugh, the Ohio State women's golf team sits in sixth place after the first round of NCAA Regionals in Bryan, Texas on Monday.
 
Hollenbaugh fired a three-under 69 in round one and is in fourth place. She was two-under on pars 4s, with a 3.80 stroke average, which was tied for second-best among the field of 65 players. Her five birdies were also tied for second-best. Hollenbaugh shot par on 11 holes.
 
Faith Choi and Caley McGinty are tied for 15th place after both carding a 73 (+1) on Monday. Choi and McGinty both averaged a 4.50 on par 5s, finishing two-under on those holes which was tied for second-best among the field. Both shot par on 11 holes and birdied three.
 
Jillian Bourdage shot 79 (+7) in round one and is tied for 53rd place. Bourdage shot even par on 13 holes, which was the most pars among the Buckeyes squad.
 
Emily Hummer, who shot 82 (+10), is tied for 61st place. Hummer shot even par on eight holes.
 
The Buckeyes finished round one with a team score of 294 (+6). Ohio State shot second-best among the 12-team field on par 5s, averaging 4.90 strokes, and were third in birdies with 12. The Buckeyes are just one stroke behind fifth-place Iowa State and seven strokes off the first place teams, LSU and SMU. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.
 
Round two of the NCAA Bryan Regional will be on Tuesday, May 7 and round three will take place on Wednesday, May 8. Buckeye tee times begin at 9:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
