
Buckeyes Announce 2024-25 Nonconference Schedule

Ohio State will host five games in Value City Arena
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2024-25 slate of nonconference games for the Ohio State men's hockey team includes 10 matchups, with five in Value City Arena in Columbus. The Buckeyes' Big Ten schedule will be released at a later date, as will times and broadcast information.

Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. Other ticket options, including groups, miniplans and single games, will be available for purchase closer to the season.

After beginning the year with an exhibition game against Niagara Oct. 6, the Buckeyes will welcome American International Oct. 11-12 for the first games vs. the Yellow Jackets in program history.

For the fourth year in a row, Ohio State and Bowling Green will meet in a home-and-home series. The squads will face off in Columbus Oct. 25 before a game on Falcon home ice the next night.

Lake Superior State comes to Columbus Nov. 1-2, marking the first series between the squads since they were together as members of the CCHA.

The final four nonconference games will be on the road, with a series at Lindenwood Nov. 15-16 and two games at Princeton Nov. 29-30.

Noting the nonconference matchups …
- The Buckeyes and Niagara have met in the regular season eight times, with Ohio State 7-1 in the series. The last matchup was a Buckeye sweep in Columbus Dec. 29-30, 2017 (3-2, 4-1).
- American International is one of five current Division I teams Ohio State has never faced, joining Augustana, Northeastern, St. Thomas and Stonehill. Augustana, St. Thomas, and Stonehill have all joined Division I in the last five years.
- Ohio State and Lake Superior State will face off for the first time since they were conference foes in the CCHA. The teams last met in 2012-13, splitting a series in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Nov. 24-25 (OSU 4-1, LSSU 3-2) and Ohio State posting a sweep in Columbus Jan. 25-26, 2013 (OSU 3-2, OSU 6-1). All-time, the Buckeyes are 60-74-11 vs. the Lakers (33-28-6 in Columbus) with the series dating to November 1969.
- The Buckeyes took on Lindenwood for the first time last season, with a 4-2 victory and 2-2 overtime tie in Columbus Oct. 13-14, 2023.
- The Buckeyes and Bowling Green skated as members of the CCHA for 40 years, with the first in 1971-72 and the last in 2012-13. Since becoming nonconference opponents starting in 2013-14, the Buckeyes and Falcons have met in eight of 11 seasons. Ohio State leads in those contests, 10-5-1. In all, the teams have met 190 times, starting in 1966. Last season the Buckeyes posted a sweep of a home-and-home series, with 6-2 and 4-2 victories Jan. 5-6.
- Ohio State and Princeton met in Columbus over Thanksgiving weekend last year and will now meet in New Jersey over the holiday weekend this year. Last season, Ohio State notched two victories in the series, with 6-3 and 4-3 victories. Ohio State is 6-0 all-time vs. the Tigers; the series will be the first between the teams on Princeton home ice.
