Four Buckeyes Earn CSC Adademic All-District Accolades

Atway, Bereznyak, Cantos Siemers and Ratliff recognized
Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with Cantos Siemers and Ratliff both advancing for the Buckeyes. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 4. Cantos Siemers was a first team honoree a year ago.Â
This is the second year in a row Bereznyak, Cantos Siemers and Ratliff have been named to the all-district team. All four Buckeyes were named Ohio State Scholar-Athletes and are expected to receive Academic All-Big Ten honors later this spring.
A native of Powell, Ohio, Atway, who received her bachelor's degree in finance this spring and is headed to law school, was 18-12 in doubles this season, including 10 dual match wins. She picked up eight singles victories as well.Â
Bereznyak, from Bat Yam, Israel, is a junior and an accounting major. In singles, she was 20-9 on the year and posted a 15-3 mark in dual matches. She also picked up five doubles wins.Â
Cantos Siemers, a native of Brussels, Belgium, received her master's degree in kinesiology this spring and earned her bachelor's degree in communication in Fall 2022. She became the Buckeyes' all-time leader in singles wins and combined singles/doubles wins this year and earned her fourth consecutive All-Big Ten honor. She is a No. 9-16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championship to earn All-America accolades for a program-best third time and is also an NCAA Doubles Championship qualifier.
Ratliff is a junior communication major from Columbus. An All-Big Ten selection for the second straight year, she was 11-7 in dual matches and 15-14 overall in singles this year. An NCAA Doubles Championship qualifier, Ratliff had a 9-8 dual record in doubles, with a 14-12 mark overall.Â
