Final Results
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Ohio State women's gymnastics team closed its 2024 season at the National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Championships Regional Final Saturday evening. The Buckeyes scored a 197.200 to finish third overall.
The team's final score was its second-best of the season and ranks top 10 in program history. The Buckeyes finish the year with a program-record nine scores of 197+ in a season.
With the final routine of the night, the whole arena was dialed in to watch regular season All-American Ella Hodges compete her final floor routine of her career. She stunned with a career-high 9.975 to tie for first overall.
Vetter also added a career-high performance, tying her career-best with a 9.925, her sixth of the year, on floor. Payton Harris tied her season best 39.600 in the all-around.
For the second straight season, and third time in four season, Ohio State has finished its season in the Regional Finals.
Vault
Vetter scored a team-best 9.900 on vault, her fourth 9.900 of the season, to anchor the Buckeyes in the first rotation. Payton Harris took second with a 9.875. Courtney McCann improved on her competitive vault debut in Thursday's meet, scoring a 9.850 in the leadoff spot for the Buckeyes. Kaitlyn Grimes tied with McCann with a 9.850 of her own. Ohio State also counted one of two 9.750s from Sidney Washington and Nicole Riccardi. The team earned a XX in the opening rotation.
Bars
Harris led the Buckeyes with a 9.900 on uneven bars. Vetter added a 9.850 to tie her score from Thursday's performance and Alexis Hankins scored a 9.825 in her final routine of her collegiate career. Emma Pritchard, Washington and Riccardi tied with 9.800s to round out the rotation for the Buckeyes. Overall, the team finished with a 49.175.
Beam
Both Harris and Vetter scored 9.900s on beam to lead the Buckeyes to a rotation score of 49.225. Harris' performance improved second-round score by .025 and Vetter tied hers. Ella Hodges added a 9.825 and Pritchard and Hankins scored 9.800s.
Floor
Ohio State finished the meet strong with a season high tying 49.575 in the final rotation. Hodges closed her Buckeye career with a career-high 9.975. Vetter and Harris tied for the second consecutive rotation with 9.925s. The team's first three floor routines from Savannah Gonzalez, Riccardi and Washington went 9.875.
