COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom, or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

- Carlos Aviles led the Buckeye men at the Raleigh Relays with a runner-up finish (54.53m / 178'11") in the discus and a fifth-place finish (17.57m / 57'7.75") in the shot put competition.
- He ranks in the top-50 in the country in the discus this season.
- Boulais went a combined 4-0 last week in leading top-ranked Ohio State to a pair of road victories over Purdue and Indiana.
- He won matches at No. 2 doubles and singles at Purdue and then won both his matches at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles at Indiana.
- The win at Indiana came over No. 55 Sam Landau 6-4, 2-6, 12-10 to provide the seventh and final point in the 7-0 sweep of the Hoosiers.
- Boulais and the Buckeyes are 22-1 on the season and 4-0 in Big Ten play.
- Ohio State's 1V4 swept its races in the Big Ten/ACC Duals at the Griggs Reservoir in Columbus.
- The No. 12 Buckeyes (7:37.5) opened with a win over No. 15 Duke (7:40.6) in the morning races.
- Ohio State (7:47.3) then took down No. 11 Virginia (7:58.9) in the afternoon competition.
- The Buckeyes compete again Saturday in Columbus (11 a.m./B1G+) against No. 14 Indiana, Minnesota and No. 20 Oregon State.
- Trey Lipsey hit the walk-off home run that earned the Buckeyes a 12-10 win over Purdue on Saturday and secured Ohio State's series win against the Boilermakers to open Big Ten play.
- With the Buckeyes trailing 10-9 going into the bottom of the ninth in game two of the three-game series, Lipsey stepped up to the plate with one out on the board and two runners on base. He blasted a three-run home run out of the park to give the Buckeyes their first walk-off win of the year.
- Lipsey batted .308 on the weekend with four hits and six RBIs. Three of his four hits were for extra bases.
- Marinier scored a team-high five goals in the Buckeyes' 14-8 win over then-No. 19 Rutgers last weekend.
- His five goals were also a career-high for goals in a game and bring his season total to a team-best 22 goals.
- Marinier and the Buckeyes earned their first Big Ten win of the season against the Scarlet Knights and their first back-to-back win over Rutgers in series history.
- Ohio State closes its regular season road schedule at No. 9 Maryland Saturday at noon.
- Perry was undefeated, with two straight-set singles wins on court two and two doubles wins, as the Buckeyes downed Maryland 6-1 and shut out Rutgers 4-0 last week.
- Against Maryland Perry won 6-0, 6-4 for a 3-0 Ohio State lead and she was a 6-2, 6-1 winner vs. Rutgers to put Ohio State up 2-0.
- After a 6-3 win on court one with Irina Cantos Siemers against the Terps to clinch the doubles point, Perry and Akanksha Bhan paired up for a 6-0 shutout win against the Scarlet Knights on court two.
- The freshman, ranked 41st nationally in singles, is 6-4 in dual matches this spring, with a 17-10 overall record. She is ranked with three doubles partners and is 9-4 in dual doubles matches, going 21-12 on the year.
- Ruck tossed a complete game shutout against Northwestern last Sunday while striking out a season-high eight batters.
- The Buckeyes' 6-0 win in the series finale snapped Northwestern's 11-game winning streak, which was the fifth-longest active streak in the country.
- Ruck improved to 4-2 on the season and her 52.1 innings pitched so far are the second-most on the team.
- The Buckeyes return to action this weekend when they travel to face Minnesota in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
- Daniella Santos broke the program record in the 10,000m at the Raleigh Relays, the same record she set almost one year ago to date.
- Santos ran a 33:28.94, breaking her former record by more than 4.5 seconds.
- The time ranks 21st in the country and second in the Big Ten.
- Tyack led the Buckeyes to a seven-goal fourth quarter comeback win over No. 19 Penn State last Thursday. She had a team-high and career-best three goals and four points, with all three goals in the final 2:56 of the game. She was named Big Ten Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week for her performance.
- The Buckeyes were down 8-2 at the end of the third quarter. Tyack set up the first Buckeye goal at 12:06 of the fourth and tallied a player-up free position goal for an 8-6 game at 2:56. After a Buckeye goal from Annie Hargraves drew Ohio State within one at 2:10, Tyack scored unassisted at 1:04 to tie the game and notched the gamewinner (also unassisted) with 10 seconds left on the clock. Her three goals came on three shots.
- The game marked her first career hat trick after two two-goal outings. She has 11 goals on the year, posting two assists for 13 points.
- Lyle Yost successfully defended his national 1-meter title at the NCAA Championships last week, winning the 1-meter title for the second straight year.
- Yost recorded an aggregate score of 433.55 and earned First Team All-American honors.
- He is the first Buckeye on the men's swimming and diving team since the 1970's to win back-to-back national titles in any event.
