
Barnes Earns Second Team All-America Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Graduate defenseman Cayla Barnes of the Ohio State women's hockey team was named a CCM/AHCA Second Team All-American Saturday by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
The award is her second of her career, as she was named a Second Team All-American in 2021. She is the ninth Buckeye to earn All-America honors.
Entering the Frozen Four, Barnes had a +68 on ice this season and she improved it to a +70 against Clarkson. The mark leads the country. The Eastvale, Calif. native leads the team with 57 blocked shots.
She helps lead a Buckeye blue line that entering the final game of the 2023-24 season has only allowed 1.34 goals per game and under 20 shots per game.
Barnes has also made an impact for the Buckeyes on the other side of the ice, earning top-10 marks among defenders with a career high 11 goals, 23 assists and 34 points.
