Buckeyes Win Silver in 200 Medley Relay on Night One of NCAAs

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The NCAA Championships got off to an exciting start for the No. 9 Ohio State women's swimming and diving team as the 200 medley relay team won silver on Wednesday night.
The relay team of Nyah Funderburke, Hannah Bach, Katherine Zenick and Teresa Ivan, who entered the race with the fastest qualifying time in the country (1:33.47) finished the 200 medley relay in 1:33.09. It is a program record time and earned the Buckeyes First Team All-American honors.
In the 800 free relay, the Buckeyes earned Honorable Mention All-American honors after placing 16th. The team of Amy Fulmer, Zenick, Paige Hall and Krista Marlin finished in 7:00.33.
After the first night of competition, Ohio State is tied for seventh place with 36 points.
The NCAA Championships continue March 21-23 at Gabrielsen Natatorium at the University of Georgia. Tomorrow's events are the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter dive and the 200 free relay. Prelims will begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals will get underway at 6:00 p.m.
