COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the fourth consecutive season, the Ohio State women's hockey team is headed back to the Frozen Four. The No. 1 seed Buckeyes defeated Minnesota Duluth, 9-0, Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink to secure its spot in the semifinals of the 2024 Women's National Collegiate Ice Hockey Championship.

How it Happened
Ohio State scored on its first possession of the game, setting the tone for the night. Jocelyn Amos scored 22 seconds into the game after redirecting a shot from Stephanie Markowski in front the goal past the Bulldogs' goaltender Eve Gascon.

Ohio State's Olivia Mobley followed with a goal at 13:25 and Hannah Bilka added another Buckeye tally at 15:53 to give Ohio State a 3-0 lead at the first intermission. Mobley capitalized on a loose puck in the goalie crease and Bilka appeared to score but play continued and her shot went on to be reviewed at the media timeout at 15:53 and confirmed a goal. The team was outshooting Minnesota Duluth 14-3 after the first frame.

The Buckeyes were quick to score in the second period as Bilka lit the lamp 29 seconds into the frame for her second goal of the day. Hadley Hartmetz scored on the team's first power play opportunity of the game at 11:57 and Jordan Baxter tacked on another goal less than a minute later. Mobley scored her second goal of the game at 16:44 to put Ohio State up, 7-0, at the second intermission. Ohio State netminder Raygan Kirk stopped 11 shots in the frame to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard.

In the third period, Joy Dunne scored the team's second power play goal of the game at 4:29 and Kelsy King recorded the final tally at 14:46.

Kirk made 16 saves on the day to earn her ninth shutout of the season.

- Ohio State's nine goals against Minnesota Duluth tied the NCAA Tournament record for goals in a game.
- The Buckeyes' 2023-24 home finale was also the team's program record 18th win on home ice this season.
- Amos and Mobley led the team with three points on the day. Mobley's two-goal performance was her second of the season. Amos' three points tied her career high.
- Of the Buckeyes' seven goal scorers, four were playing in their first NCAA Tournament game – Amos, Baxter, Dunne and King.
- The Buckeyes advance to their fourth consecutive, and fifth overall, Frozen Four with the win.
- Kirk's nine shutouts this year lead the nation. The shutout is the team's third in its NCAA Tournament history. The Buckeyes defeated Northeastern, 3-0, in the 2023 Frozen Four semifinals and beat Boston College, 2-0, in the 2018 quarterfinals.
