Ohio State will now wait until the NCAA Rifle Selection show to find out whether any athletes qualified as individuals. The show will take place on Monday, February 19 at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com.
The team also recognized four seniors: Philip Becker, Tyler Hanson, Frank Steyn, and Viktor Kiss who competed in their last home match as Buckeyes on Saturday.
Coach Tanoue: "With it being worth 50 percent of the NCAA qualification score, the Qualifier is always a huge challenge for everyone and for our team to be able to put up a score of 4710 was a great to see. Of course coming up less than one point short of qualifying for the NCAA Championships is going to sting and I know that the team was disappointed to be so close to achieving that goal. That said we had several fantastic individual performances, and we will wait to see whether we have any athletes qualify for the NCAA Rifle Championships next month. Lastly, it was certainly bittersweet to watch Philip, Tyler, Frank, and Viktor shoot their last matches as Buckeyes. They have given so much to our program and helped us to achieve so much on the range and off and I know they are going to continue doing great things as they make the move into their next chapter."
Up next for Ohio State is the NCAA Rifle Selection Show, which will take place on Monday, February 18 at 6:00 p.m. on NCAA.com.
